Dolores of Chronicles in Culinary Curiosity chose Blueberry Sour Cream Ice Cream (page 434 of Dorie Greenspan’s Baking: From My Home to Yours) for this week’s Tuesdays with Dorie.
I thought this was a great choice mainly because I haven’t made ice cream with fruit yet and my ice cream maker would see the light of day!
The preparation of the ingredients was fast and simple (not too many bowls to clean up this time). After the blueberry mixture was chilled, I poured it into the chilled ice cream maker bowl for churning and I was tasting ice cream in 20 minutes.
It was delicious although I found that the sour cream/cream mixture was a bit too rich for my taste. Nevertheless, The Family had no complaints! I have to say that the ice cream tasted much better than what it looks like in the picture. Sadly, that’s the best picture out of all the pictures I took. The ice cream started melting so I had to stop taking more pictures.
Thanks Dolores for choosing such a refreshing dessert. The TWD Bakers are serving their ice cream at Tuesdays with Dorie. You can find this recipe at Chronicles in Culinary Curiosity.

I wouldn’t call that a bad picture by any means – melting ice cream just means you need to eat it faster!

I think it looks pretty good, and I agree I liked the flavor. It was definitely one of the less mess making recipes I’ve made, too.
