Today is the beginning of our bathroom renovation. In the event you are thinking how a bathroom renovation can be linked to food, I will make my case. Besides, writing about it keeps my insanity stable.
Bathroom Project:
Day One: Demolition
Yea!!! Finally those horrible tiles are gone! The bathroom renovation was an after thought after we approved the kitchen plans. Marie, our decorator, was not aware of this ‘after thought’ as she was on vacation. I approved the bathroom plan although there seemed to be something missing. Luckily, Marie came back from vacation before the renovation to make minor changes to the bathroom plan and help with the selection of the bathroom tiles, the counter, accessories and paint colors! Thank you Marie!
So far, the tiles will be delivered tomorrow. The contractors are bringing in the bathtub and the cabinets will be delivered on Thursday. There’s still some details to attend to like buying the faucets, mirror, fan, light, and accessories… Thank God, this is a small bathroom…
I didn’t want a bathtub but a shower stall in its place – my husband did not agree since we don’t have another bathtub in the house. Okay, let’s put a glass door on the bathtub – my husband didn’t agree especially since I went over budget with the tiles(I don’t care they’re beautiful! )I am thinking we could install glass doors at a later date if necessary. Learning to pick my battles is important – we still have the kitchen renovation to go through.
So how does a bathroom renovation tie in with food? Well, there is certain amount of ‘stress’ involved in renovating and the best way I handle stress is by either eating or buying cookbooks. My cookbook order should arrive next week. My one month cookbook withdrawal has come to and end!
